Hi–party people! Welcome to Snack Snark Bark. I started this blog in early 2010 and mainly used it to chronicle my meals and workouts. However, I soon found that to be very redundant and a tad boring and anyone who knows me, knows I’m not boring. So as the time has passed, so has my blog. I still post about meals, restaurants and funky food finds but also post about saving money in my Frugal Friday series, the bark-my poohuahua Lincoln and just life in general.
And life has been interesting this past year…..
After working in finance for five years with a stable job, I quit my job in April. I was making great money with a huge company however the money wasn’t making me happy and I was unfulfilled. It got to the point where I was depressed with my life because of my job so I took a leap of faith and put in a months notice. I cashed out my 401K, put half of it in a rollover IRA and the other half in a money market account to live on until I figure things out. I spent the summer traveling around the US and parts of Europe visiting friends and checking out different cities that could possibly be my new home. And I finally found a new home—Colorado!

I recently moved to Denver and can’t wait to explore the area some more and get back into the workforce!
Some other tidbits about me:
*I am very sacrastic and suffer from foot in mouth disease (but my heart’s in the right place I swear!)
*I’ve never met a glass of red wine I didn’t like
*I could eat chips and salsa every day of my life and be happy
*I do not like going through revolving doors and will walk further if it means avoiding them
*I don’t like living in one place for too long and believe I was a military brat in a former life
*My favorite bands are The Killers, The Strokes, Muse,Interpol. u2, The Beatles and Sublime to name a few (I heart Pandora!)
*I’m an extrovert and a Sagittarius to the T
*Am a frugalista!
*Besides my savings account, a majority of my money goes into my traveling savings account (without that, I have no dreams!)

Just another day in Venice.....

Awesome recpe via photos…I love that you have changed your life through hard work! You rock!!
Oh my gosh – I immediately decided I must follow your blog when I read your first about me… *I am very sacrastic and suffer from foot in mouth disease (but my heart’s in the right place I swear!)
..hi, I’m kate..& we are destined to be friends!
awesome transformation! You look so much like my sister-in-law and that’s a very good thing.
She’s pretty and so are you!
I suffer from that disease as well. Luckily I have a very soft voice so people don’t hear me the first time around.
I love the Killers too! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Congrats on transforming your lifestyle!
We have a ton of stuff in common. My first blog ever was called “foot in the mouth”. We also like similar bands and have both lived in Phoenix. I could totally live off of chips and salsa!!
Munster, IN! Have you been to the 3 Floyds Brewery? I’m dying to go there but every time we drive to Chicago it’s bad timing – either early morning or late at night. Thanks for stopping by my little blog world. Cheers!
My husband tells me I have no filter. Oh well, at least I’m honest, I guess
Coffee rules and the sushi and traveling make my list, too.
i found you randomly in a comment section and had to stop on by after seeing a little tidbit about WV. GO EERS!!! fellow mountaineer here, and actually grew up in WV-born and raised. now i’m in VA but the heart will forever be in mountain mama land.
also, coffee is my favorite thing. and the killers and the strokes (the latter being my fave band of ALL time) are some of my music choices as well.
thanks for your comment on my blog!
so great to “meet” another CLT bogger. we’re gonna have to organize some kind of meet up before the summer is over!
Yay for journalists!!!
How did you end up in finance btw? Do you enjoy it? I have no idea what to do with my journalism degree either!
Congrats on the transformation! Anyone who loves Jim Gaffigan is a friend in my book
Can’t wait to read more!
You are adorable!
Just discovered your blog and read your “About” page. I feel like this is going to be a great blog to read because I’m also looking for a healthy lifestyle and have a healthy dose of snark. Oh, and the travel bug!

you look fantastic and what great motivation you are to someone who is looking to do the same (like me!) thanks for sharing your story via this blog!
Hiya. I traveled over here from Allison’s blog…
I’m in Charlotte as well. Who knew there were so many Clt bloggers?!
Looking forward to checking out your site.

I think you were beautiful then and now, if I may be so bold.
And thanks for the thrift store underwear tip. {Shudder}…
Yum…decided to follow you when I read this. I don’t have foot in mouth disease but face-gives-it-all-away disease. No words necessary everyone knows what is on my mind with one look.
I can’t believe I never read this page!
It makes me like you even more.
I love that you a. are snarky (a characteristic SORELY lacking in other popular food blogs) and b. can’t stand to live in one place too long. I have lived in NY, Louisville, Prague, Czech Republic, and now DC for the past 4.5 years and am BORED. So ready to move onto the next place! Thinking San Fran.
Haha, I love thrifting rule #1!
Thank you for stumbling upon my blog! Can’t wait to read yours and catch up!

Love your story! Revolving doors terrify me.
Revolving doors weird me out as well. Sadly, I must go through one daily to get into work, but I don’t like it!
I just moved to Denver this year too. I LOVE those Colorful Colorado signs. I hadn’t noticed them till we roadtripped back from Minnesota in October.
What an awesome way to end up in CO! I admire you for taking that leap!
Just found your blog and I love you! Besides suffering from foot in mouth disease, I also am afraid of revolving doors!
Mmmmm sushi! Do you go to Sushi Den??!
I havent been there yet but everyone I know raves about it. I definitely want to try it one of these days
I have to tell you – your “poohuahua” comment made me giggle hysterically. Years ago, when someone described their dog to me as “choodle,” I suggested “poohuahua” as an even better alternative. They did not find it funny in the slightest, but I couldn’t stop laughing. Thank goodness I’m not the only witty one! (:
I’ve missed reading your blog! So glad you found where you’re happy! XOXO
Hi Tiffany,
Since you are newer to Denver & love food, I think you might be interested in attending one of my food tours called a Dishcrawl–4 restaurants, 1 neighborhood, 1 night–lots of foodies to socialize with and plenty to write about!
Feel free to email me for more info, juliem@dishcrawl.com
My first event is on March 26th in the Highlands. I would love to see you there & am happy to talk to you more about it over coffee too!
p.s. already said it on a yelp invitation, but your pup is so adorable! I’m a sucker for the little scruffy ones!
