Hi all—happy Frugal Saturday! I was such a slacker yesterday I forgot to put up a Frugal Friday post so better late than never right? On Thursday Bruegger’s Bagels was giving out three free bagels if you’re part of their email list. I dig Brueggers because they don’t send too many emails and when you sign up, you get a coupon for a free bagel with cream cheese! Plus their bagels are bigger and fluffier than other chain establishments out there and they have an array of different flavors.

I got a honey grain, spinach and asiago and sun dried tomato bagel. When I got home I sliced them in half then put them in the freezer so I can enjoy in the future!

I’m starting my new job on Monday and can’t wait! It’s nice to be a lady of leisure for a few days but when you don’t have that much money to go out and do stuff it sucks. Normally I would go outside to a park or hike but with all the snow we’ve gotten in the past week that’s been virtually impossible (I will be buying a pair of waterproof hiking boots very soon!)  I’ve been lagging on the breakfast front when working and haven’t been preparing anything that I can just grab and go with. Usually I will portion out oatmeal or yogurt and granola beforehand so I don’t have to worry about it in the morning but the last few weeks that came to a stop. I took care of that this morning by making breakfast wraps! I made a batch of scrambled eggs then topped with cheese and wrapped in tin foil. I kept it on the minimal side of toppings so I can add stuff the morning off like one of my 100 calorie packets of Wholly Guacamole or ham.

I went to the Goodwill thrift store on Sunday and found tons of cheap deals! I was on a mission to find a few tops or sweaters and gave myself a budget of $25 for the trip and am happy to say I stuck with my budget. Pink tags were half off that day and I found a couple of items but the rest of the sweaters were under $4.

Plus I found some other cute goodies I wasn’t even looking out for like this coffee mug  and pint glasses for $.49 and hat for $1.99

Paxia threw a VIP party/tasting on Thursday night to celebrate their new lamb dinner menu they are rolling out for restaurant week.

I never heard of this restaurant so I was excited to check it out! I heart Mexican food but free Mexican food is muy bueno in my book. I walked in and was overtaken by all the colors, they had just about every color that could make you happy. Plus they had chairs with funky patterns, I was tempted to take one and make a break for it!

They offered free margaritas or beer and I tried one of their margaritas which almost knocked me off my ass (in a good way of course).

After going through baskets of chips and their salsa which was some of the spiciest I’ve ever had, it was time to try their lamb tacos. I think the servers forgot about us after awhile because it seemed like a majority of people had a plate but we didn’t. After flagging down someone, we finally got ours and I was looking forward to it since A) It was free B) As much as I love chips and salsa, that’s not going to fill me out—mama needs protein! and C) Everyone was ooh-ing and aah-ing over them.

Sadly they were a bit of a disappointment. They lamb was tender and absolutely succulent but it lacked flavor. As much as I love red onions and cilantro it can’t carry all the tacos flavor so that was a let down. I’m happy I got to try it out though before going there and trying the lamb tacos because that is something I would definitely order if I saw it on a menu. They also gave us a coupon for 15% off our next visit and it’s even valid during happy hour so I will be going back to Paxia for sure!

*Free Pancakes Day is back at IHOP! All day February 28th you can get an order of short stack pancakes for free but they do ask that you consider leaving a donation since proceeds will go towards Children’s Miracle Network. Just another case of eating for a cause, I’m totally down with that!

*For the lovers out there (or people who are just friendly) if you go to Qdoba on Valentine’s Day purchase an entree and kiss someone, you get a second entrée free! I want a free burrito so I’m officially on the hunt to find someone to kiss, I wonder if it has to be with tongue??

*On March 3, Auntie Anne’s is giving away free pretzels from 10am to 3pm.—no coupon needed!
