Candy Land was one of my favorite games growing up so when I saw the Yelp Elite Event this month was Yelping in Candy Land, I was a bit ecstatic. Re-live those days in while sipping on adult beverages and noshing on cupcakes? Even better!

We got there a little early but the party was already bumping—one area was the Yours Truly Cupcake tasting room (they don’t sell their cupcakes in a traditional bakery setting instead you have to schedule a tasting and they cater for corporate events), the other area next door was where the party was going on—spirits, candy, music and all!
When we stepped insider and were automatically transported into a candy land! On the ground was multicolored pieces of paper to resemble the Candy Land board along with high top tables set up with different sugary concoctions. But to make it even more fun (because sugar and free booze isn’t enough) was that there was a game to play just like the real Candy Land. There were questions and challenges for us to do all about the “Candy Land” like taking pictures with the gingerbread man, trying out different cupcakes and mingling with others to find out their favorite candy. Plus some of the game was trying out libations courtesy different distilleries and spirit providers like Breckenridge Distillery, Peach Bourbon, Pinnacle Vodka and Crispin Hard Cider Company.

Even though I’m watching my carbs and sugar, I had to try out the cupcakes! They were outstanding and bite size—-literally!

My favorites of the night were the Pineapple Right Side Up (with paired well with the whipped cream and pineapple juice concoction) along with the Peach cupcake topped with *gasp* goat cheese AND cream cheese frosting. I’m all about anything goat cheese and never heard of it mixed in with frosting so this not only delighted but also intrigued me.

Cupcakes, beverages and good times with friends like Lynne and her friend, Kristen.

They had a raffle at the end of the night and yours truly won a baller bucket full of sweets-of course when I finally win something, it’s sweets, damn you blood sugar, a bottle of St. Germain ( which is supposed to be some kind of magical alcohol by the way the Breckenridge Distillery lady was talking about it), two mini cupcakes (margarita was like a sweet margarita cake but the PBR was lackluster, I didn’t turn into a hipster after eating it) and a Yelp t-shirt (which I am way too excited about, I really do love Yelp!!)

The best part? When I checked my blood glucose the next morning it was right where it needed to be. Winning.
AWWW!! That looks so stinkin fun!!!!!! And cupcakes…oh my word.
I loved CandyLand as a kid! I actually liked all board games but since I was an only child I didn’t really play many of them unless I was at a friend’s house. Wow. That sounds sad. ha!
Love the tshirt! Oh, and Crispin cider…no thanks. That has made an appearance at a few of our Yelp events and I’ve nixed it for good now.
St. Germain is amazing – you only need a tiny bit and it’s so fragrant and wonderful…not flowery and gross.
I have two words: St. Germain Margarita (ok, that was 3.) Sub the SG for triple sec, use ONLY fresh lime juice (no sour mix) and salt. It’s pretty fabulous.
I think I will try that asap. If only I wasn’t being lazy right now because I would get my butt to the liquor store asap for that!
I nominated you for the Liebster award on my blog!!
Although I dont know how many followers you have I thought it would be fun!
Omg, St. Germain IS magical! I don’t like flowery tasting stuff, but elderflower makes for an amaaazing cocktail. And that has to be the cutest event I have ever seen. We broke out Candyland to geek out about awhile back and it wasn’t as fun as we remembered…so it became a drinking game. No St. Germain though.
I want to play the Candy Land drinking game! I don’t know if I’ve ever had a floral drink before so it will be interesting…..
